Echocardiography Technician Training Program Details
The Echocardiography Technician program trains students to assist physicians in obtaining diagnostic information about the condition of a patient´s heart. Students will be exposed to the technology, equipment, techniques and processes in preparation for a rewarding career as an Echocardiography Technician.
The Echocardiography Technician Program of study focuses on educating students in the following areas:
- Anatomy and Physiology of the cardiovascular system
- Diagnostic procedures in cardiovascular physiology
- Basic principles of Ultrasound Physics, transducers, and pulse echo instruments
- Doppler instrumentation
- Principles of 2-Dimensional and M-Mode Echocardiography
- Recognition and evaluation of various heart diseases
The Echocardiographer (Cardiac Ultrasound Technician)
Echocardiographers are specialists in noninvasive cardiovascular procedures using ultrasound equipment. At Medical Careers Institute, students enrolled in our Echocardiography Technician program graduate with the ability to use ultrasound equipment to obtain and record information about the condition of a patient´s heart. Students will learn to use ultrasound to view the heart and its structures, and measure the blood flow within its chambers.
The Echocardiography graduate can apply for Registry after gaining experience in the field. Technologists who add to their qualifications through continuing education earn more money and have more employment opportunities.
